Leading up to our two launches this week for Amy Johnson – A Life in Pictures, we wanted to share these pictures of Sarah Taylor – our Life in Pictures coordinator – and Paul Weatherill,  organiser of Western Libraries Gardening Group installing the ‘Amy’s Childhood’ exhibition in the garden at Western Library. Open from Friday 5 August, it’s a beautiful celebration of Amy’s life in the Boulevard / Hessle Road area of Hull.

Do join us for two very special events this week – Thursday 4 August, 6pm, at Hull History Centre celebrating the launch of the Amy at Leisure exhibition, and again on Friday 5 August for the  launch of the Solo to Australia exhibition, a selection of images from her groundbreaking flight to Australia. All images have been sleeted from Amy Johnson – A Life in Pictures, which will also be available to purchase for the first time.
