Design Description

Inspired by Amy Johnson and Elsa Schiaparelli (who designed some of Johnson’s outfits), this moth celebrates women in aviation while evoking the art deco style of the period, but with the colour turned up to Schiaparelli’s signature ‘shocking pink’.

Artist Statement

emanuelletomato is the name more commonly associated with Terri Affleck, an illustrator living in Brighton. Recently she has been working on ‘Blood & Black Paper’, an ongoing series of horror-inspired coloured pencil drawings, but she is also known for finely detailed ink illustrations. Other emanuelletomato projects include comic strips and animated gifs, and she loves to customise any surface, from grains of rice to mannequins.
