Design Description

My design is based on Rangoli. This is an artform from India in which patterns are made on the floors o living rooms & courtyards using brightly coloured rice, sand, flour or petals. These are usually made during Diwali, Onam, Pongal and other Indian festivals.

Artist Statement

I originally trained as a Graphic Designer and worked in various design studios for some years. Since then I have explored a variety of arts & crafts including Glass & Silk painting, Batik & Fabric work, Jewellery & Card Making, Zentangle & Mandala Arts, and Portraiture. I have recently produced designs for Ceramic Tiles and a Colouring Book. I have sold my work in galleries, visitor centres and at craft fairs and have taught arts & crafts in the community to both children and adults.
