Luna Bogong

Design Description

The Luna moth has been inspired by moths that are native to England, and Aboriginal designs. Linking the moth to both the beginning of Amy Johnson’s travels and to her end destination. The Latin term Luna means Moon and the name Bogong means moth when translated from the Aboriginal language. So the design and name have origins in both countries.

Artist Statement

Ruth Pigott is a community artist. She work under the name Curiosity Creators which she set up to work with schools and community groups with art based projects within communities; bringing unusual and unique experiences into the everyday.
