Design Description

I was inspired for this design by Amy Johnson’s route through South East Asia during her solo flight from England to Australia. The dragon, more than any other image, is associated with the Orient. It is a popular symbol that stands for heroism, perseverance, self-confidence, and success. The dragon is a bringer of incredible luck and is representative of new beginnings. In Asia, outstanding people with high achievements are compared with dragons.

Artist Statement

Caroline Greyling is a North Nottinghamshire based artist. Her work is a mixture of the real and the fantastic. Currently she is building a body of work that is concerned with the idea of a future’s return to the ways of the past.
