Jersey Tiger Moth

Jersey Tiger Moth

Artist – Liz Dees

Design Description

This moth design is based on the beautiful appearance of the Jersey Tiger Moth butterfly. This is a species that has benefited from climate change, first recorded as an immigrant in Devon in 1880, it has experienced a dramatic upsurge. The Jersey Tiger in the last 20 years has begun to dramatically spread across southern England with regular sightings now recorded in Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex, Kent and as far north as Hertfordshire. In fact this stunning day-flying moth has become common in central London.
