Jason I and florals
Jason I and florals
Artist – Claire Stevens
Design Description
The design is inspired by ‘Aeroplane wallpaper’, designed in the early 1930s by Raymond McGrath. It is said to have been commissioned by a woman aviator in 1933. This could have been Amy Johnson. The design features the silhouette of ‘Jason I’. the aeroplane that Amy Johnson flew on her longest trip. The design incorporates a gentle floral pattern, with the aeroplane motif, reflecting the femininity that Amy Johnson brought to the aviation world.
